MindPlay Connections have proven to be a terrific programming tool for a wide range of organizations serving older adults and  activity program leaders.  Residential care settings, including independent, assisted and nursing home elders, and with some adaptations, for people with dementia.

  • Families and visitors to people in residential care communities
  • As a marketing tool to prospective families in such settings
  • Caregiver support groups
  • Home health aides working with clients
  • Senior Resource Centers

For Individuals –

MindPlay Connections were created to be a resource with wide-ranging challenges. You will find word games and trivia quizzes in it each week, and also opportunities to reminisce, imagine, offer your opinions and advice, and, I hope, think about topics in new ways. With each issue, I also hope you laugh. Seeing the funny side of anything also means you have made fresh connections in your brain.

I wanted MindPlay Connections to be something that you could print out and do in your lap at your leisure and share with a family member or friends. I wanted you to be able to disconnect from technology and reconnect with one another.

If you are a caregiver

I am an instructional technologist (trainer) by degree, but I chose to focus on older adults when I became a caregiver for my own parents, a role I played for more than 10 years. Now, as I am getting a bit long in the tooth myself, (as my father used to say,) my interest in living and aging well is personal. But I still have enormous empathy for family and professional caregivers.
